  • Always prepare first aid kits. First aid kits are necessary in case of health related disasters. Always keep a pouch where it is easy to be found in your home. Make sure you have the necessary supplies in the pouch such as: bandages, band-aids, antiseptics, analgesics, and cottons.

  • Store non-perishable goods and batteries for flashlights and radios. It is important to store food for a disaster. We cannot assure that local stores would be open during and after a disaster. Batteries are also a must since we need updates from government units and news agencies. Flashlights may come in handy during blackouts.

  • Equip yourself with the knowledge of first aid care. The most important thing to know in first aid are the basics of bandaging and dressing. We do not wish for our loved one to be injured, but fate can never tell us the odds.

During a disaster

  • Stay in-doors. Roaming around during a disaster increases its impact. Help reduce casulaties by being smart and staying inside your homes or offices. During earthquakes, if you are indoors, stay inside until the shaking stops.

  • Be updated with the authorities. Open your radios and be updated of forecasts. Authorities will announce areas where evacuation and relief goods are available. Authorities will also announce the severity of the disaster and the steps that should be taken by individuals and families.

  • Observe your area. Your area is not always being observed by those who are in authority. Use your intuition and decide whether your area is unsafe or becoming one. Watch out for possible hazards and know how to protect yourselves.

After a disaster

  • Clear out hazards and report damaged local assets. The first thing to do after a disaster is to check your area and clear out hazards. Trashes are hazards that are needed to be cleared. Be cautious of your area for life threatening hazards such as pointy objects and electric cable lines. Report for any damaged community assets such as electric lines, electric posts, damaged street light, etc.

  • Stay updated. Keep up with the news and latest forecasts. There might be part 2.

  • Help those who are in severe condition. We all experienced the disaster but there will be always unfortunate people who had the most impact. Share your extras and help rebuild and rehabilitate the community.

Environment

The environment is where we all exist. It houses our resources, homes, and beautiful creatures and their habitats. It is where the systems of life come alive and support each other. The responsibility of the environment lies on the hand of those who are capable of reshaping it; us humans.

For years, we unknowingly disrupt the rate of temperature; we call it global warming. Know that we have the sufficient knowledge of it, our mission is to restore it and protect the environment and its eco-system.

Deforestation

Deforestation is the act of reducing trees in order to have space of agriculture, infrastructure, bussiness, or urbanization. Poorly planned mass deforestation leads to imbalance of the eco-system and massive soil erosions. It is not necessarily bad to do this procedure, however, the excessive and unnecessary use has already doomed the environment affecting livelihoods, habitats, and the natural order of the environment.
